Up until a few days ago the plan was to build a cocktail cabinet as I felt it would take up less space. However, after considering it more it seems that the amount of actual floor space a upright takes is no more than a cocktail table and I have now decided to go with an upright plan. I have some questions if someone can help me out: 1 - How do you mount the lexan 'sandwich' that holds the marquee in place? I need a way to get inside to replace the light bulb when it burns out. What is the recommended mounting tecnique? 2 - How does one mount the CP top onto the CP box? 3 - The plans I have seen don't have a door in the bottom of the cabinet that can be used to access the computer. Whats the best way to do this? Add a simple door to the back of the cabinet? 4 - What about cooling? When looking at the cocktail table I was going to have to put in vents and fans to cool the electrical components. None of the upright plans I have seen have any extra fans/vents for this. Is this needed in a n upright plan? Thanks |

Easy to remove for light access. 2 - I used 4 L-brackets underneath to keep it on the cabinet because i wanted it to be removable in case I need to move it. Haven't had any problems with it. 4 - It probably depends on the plans you go with. I used the older ultimate arcade II plans which have openings in the back, and I haven't had any cooling problems. I would just try it out first, and if you get heating problems, then maybe drill holes and add fans. |
