Hey all,
I'm almost finished with my mame cab and I'm about to start on the "sound system" part of it.

Get the cheapest amplified PC speakers you can find, hack them apart, and hook up the cab's speaker to the amp.

I bought a 1/8" DIN jack from Radio Shack  and soldered wires to it.  These wires I then attached to the speaker in my cab.  Works quite well.  I've done it with three cabs now.

..further to this...you should find a small step-down transformer in one of the speaker casings which converts your 110v(or 220v or 240v depending where you are in the world) from the wall down to usually around 5v-12v for cheapies (8v was my last set of cheapies.
