How do I remove wood glue? |
(1/1) |
Thurman:
Anyone have any tips for loosening wood glue? |
Veinman:
When I had to remove some control panel sides due to poor construction, I used a hammer to knock the panels off. Granted, the glue was not very old, and I had room to swing the hammer. You might not. Once you knock out pieces, you'll have to sand down any left-overs. |
CJK:
The bad news is that aliphatic wood glues (as opposed to the older hide-based glues) are basically stronger than the wood fibers themselves. You'll have to either knock the pieces apart carefully or use a pry bar. -- Chris |
