Druins Interface.. Pin 1 location???
KenToad:
Yeah, I have you interface right here in front of me and I see the fat track--nice term for that, btw. I don't think anyone will get confused about anything anymore, especially if you spread the term fat track around. It doesn't really matter what the pin numbers on your board are, just so long as the ground pin can be identified and anyone hooking up Floyd's interface realizes that pin 12 should be next to the ground and on until pin number one from the interface at the opposite side.
Let's definitely go with the fat track thing. I would have wired up my connectors opposite if I had known, but as I said, it doesn't seem to affect anything having the connectors on upside down. Thanks a lot, Druin, for clearing this up. I must go to bed now, but I'll try to check this thread again tomorrow morning to see if anything remains unclear for anyone.
Cheers,
KenToad
PS now that I think about it, I should have looked for that fat track earlier, trying too hard to follow the instructions, shut the brain down because of the ton of monotonous work to get these interfaces hooked up. Hopefully, I will get some time to play the games soon. I can't wait for two player Midnight Resistance, just like the old days at Aladdin's Castle.

On the rotary board the ground pin is the one with the fat track coming out of it on the circuit so you can't miss it there either. On the board in the picture, Joystick 1 is on the right of the picture, and the 5v/ground screw terminals are on the top of the picture. You can see a fat track on the board going from joystick 1 to the screw terminals. That's the ground pin on the joystick.

I'm still a little unclear. Looking at your bottom graphic (which KenToad posted), we are calling Pin 1 Ground, and it goes to the Fat Track. That looks fine for the Right side of the board.
On the left side of the board, it Looks like there is a Fat Track running under the capacitor and this goes to the upper pin, which is labelled as Pin 13. Or maybe the Fat Track is on the back of the board for the left side and does run to the lower pin as shown?
???
Druin:
On the left side the fat track is on the bottom of the board on pin 1 and goes to another ground location rather than straight to the screw terminal power. The fat track on the capacitor is either +5v or ground, both running to the screw terminals so it may look deceiving from just a picture of the board.

Thanks!

I just looked at my druin's and I was using Pin 13 on the connector as the ground wire, but connecting it to the Pin 1 on Druin's.
