Wow, that's about as clever as the proof for 2 = 1:

let a = b
=> a.a = b.a
=> a^2 = ab
=> a^2 + (a^2 - 2ab) = ab + (a^2 - 2ab)
=> 2(a^2 - ab) = 1(a^2 - ab)
=> 2 = 1    
QED.

Now, where's the nearest Zebra Crossing? :)

Let x = 0.999999...
=> 10x = 9.999999....
=> 10x = 9 + 0.99999....
=> 10x = 9 + x
=> 9x = 9
=> x = 1!
=> R = Q
