Today I visited a model boat show in the UK and saw some guys racing radio controlled sailboats

I was so inspired I bought myself one of these kits

anyone else tried this before?

SirPoonga:

I've been wanting to get into something like this.  Nowadays witht he ready to fly, sail, race R/C vehicles it is easy to get into the hobby.

HaRuMaN:

Someone say RC planes?   :P

Crazy Cooter:

That almost looks like my plane that I've "flown" three times so far... total of maybe 4 seconds airtime.  It needs repair (again) from the last time.  I went with a Focke Wulf, but should have bought one of those super slow things to start.

On a brighter note, I stumbled into a collection at a garage sale late last year.  A guy was selling his father-in-laws collection.  The plane had been squished, but was a HUGE dual engine plane (~8' wingspan).  I also got a drawer rack thingie with a ton of small parts and like a dozen engines for $20.  I'll be playing with them this summer.  I'll build something... not sure what yet, but I'm sure I'll crash it. ;)

HaRuMaN:

That's a plane we built at school this year for a competetion.  It has about a 8.5 foot wingspan, weighs around 13 pounds (loaded), and flies about 60 mph...  RC planes are great fun.   :D
