| Best way to clean rubber grommets on rusty wicos? |

I've read a thread where it says to NOT use WD40 on the wico grommets, but I'm wondering what I should use. I just got some old wico 8-ways that are a little rusty. I've taken steel wool to the shafts, 409 to the platic parts and have the metal parts soaking in WD40, but I'm not sure how to clean the grommets. Thanks |

I washed mine with soap and water. Then used spray silcone which says it will keep rubber from drying out. Don't want the grommets to dry out and crack. |

Something that just crossed my mind... There's a product called "Seal Saver". It comes in a small bottle. I have it for keeping the rubber neck and wrist gaskets on a kayaking dryjacket healthy. Same idea, it prevents the rubber from drying out and cracking. |
