Interviewing R. Belmont, ask your questions inside
2600:
I'm going to do what is hopefully a series of interviews of people who help contribute to MAME for Retroblast.com. After I get through with some of the developers I plan to move on to people who help contribute to the MAME community like our very own Saint, RandyT, Andy Warne, etc. (hint, hint) To give the interview a good variety, I thought I'd do it somewhat of a slashdot style and have users of BYOAC submit their questions.
First up is MAME developer R. Belmont. To see some of his other projects and info on Mr. Belmont I point you to Zinc/M1 and Blog.
So please if you have any questions for Mr. Belmont send me a PM or post below. I plan to go through the posts and submit a list of questions Sunday Morning, so have your questions in by then.
ChadTower:
Make sure you ask him about Simon Belmont.
2600:
I'm sure that never gets old. :)
ChadTower:
Yep...
Ask him HIS opinion of what MAME has become vs what HIS original vision was... of course, you need to ask him his original vision and what he think s it has become in order to ask him to compare the two and how he feels about it.
JoyMonkey:
Ask him where to download roms! Specifically NeoGeo hacks.
I'd like to know what the devs hold in a higher priority; fixing/updating old games or adding new games to Mame.
It feels like I've been waiting for Asteroids and other Atari vector games to get their cocktail modes fixed since forever; I know that R.Belmont has had a look into it, but it seems to have fallen to the wayside again.
Also, does he feel like all his hard work is appreciated?
