I live in the US and, while I am in the "exception to the rule category", I get 30 days paid a year plus sick leave. Sick leave doesn't have a cap on it. You can build up as much as you can I think it's four hours a pay period. Normal vacation has a cap and you can only build up so much, though the number is pretty high. Now, granted, I'm a government worker (easy on the jokes) but, most government employees get the same deal. Military gets the same as well but, it's a lot harder to actually use it when you want (serverd 6 years USN). One more reason gov't employees are hated by all civilians.
