Get a giant pickup with a Hemi, fill the bed with people to yell at the ricer, and STILL smoke them.

you can spend 3000 on a 90-94 AWD eclipse, spend like 1500 on mods, and run 12s all day.

PMFJI,
I know nothing about cars.
Please explain to me what a "ricer" is. To me, rice is a grain or a university.
Also, how much horsepower is good? Wouldn't a lighter car need less horsepower to get the same acceleration as a heavier car with more horsepower?
I saw an ad for a large truck that had "300 horsepower". Is that a lot? Is Sephroth's 450+ horsepower a lot?
I looked up my car and it has a 277 horsepower engine. But it is a V8. Do engines with 8 cylinders have more horsepower than an engine with fewer cylinders, barring exotic superchargers and other additions?
Do hybrid engines really have the same power as pure gasoline engines? I have trouble believing that.

You shouldn't have any trouble believing that. They are capable of moving a large mass quite a distance. The trouble comes in believing that a hybrid engine can deliver the same performance, horsepower/torque wise, as a gasoline engine.
I always get a kick out of seeing people piss money away in tricking out their car to the Nth degree....then you see them head into their apartment they compromised on living in since they want to spend as much money as possible on even MORE improvements on their car.
Hey Stingray, I had a friend with a Triumph, and he wasn't a snobbish wienerhead....are you sure it's just not you? ;) That was another car I enjoyed using Mag lights for headlights in a friggen electrical emergency one night!

I think its obvious that a smaller car needs less engine to move it, but you never have enough horse power if your a car guy, i do think 300 horse is better then average for a production car.
