--- Quote from: mr.Curmudgeon on April 19, 2005, 01:02:54 pm ---Well, as someone hoping for a more progressive, modern church, Ratzinger is, in effect, one of the most fundamentalist candidates available, so we're going to get doctrine fit for the middle ages instead of 2005. Oh well, maybe it'll turn more people away from organized religion and further into organized thought.

Let us not forget that countries should never attempt to align themselves along geo-political borders, but strictly along religious ones. I mean if you had to define the phrase "bridge builder" for an ESL friend you could pretty much just use that as the negative. :'(
This kind of thing always reminds me of the sci-fi stories dealing with a group of people living in a fall-out shelter after a nuclear holocaust. They come out of hiding a hundred years later to discover that society has changed quite dramatically, but for some unfathomable reason they decide it's their responsibility to reverse the new civilisation back to its pre-war state... ::)

I try to stay out of religion. ( other persons that is)
I am Christian. never cared to find out what the difference is between Baptist, Methodist. all the same to me.
what good is a pope fore? no need to flame me. I really am asking
I do believe in God and think all have the right to believe what they want.
I just don't like most churches. They pressure me to much. Ready to get baptised? NO. I like to smoke , drink, and I Can't help my self if I see a sharp babe I do want to see he NAKED ;D
I know I am a heathen.
god forgive me and save the staving Pygmies :)
