Santoro:
Aluminum tape is expensive but even better.

If I do this I will only be one small step away from planting canibis up there and listening to Pink Floyd.
DrewKaree:
Line the bottom with rubber or set a window sill planter box in there first if you go that route. Wouldn't want the water to damage all that hard work.

Saturday night update.
Minor works today although I did get a few things crossed off my list.
I attached the runners on the back of the cabinet for the back panels. I used 4x2 for this for two reasons, I had the spare wood and I hoped these big bits of wood would make it easier to hammer the T-nuts into place. The three wooden panels & Lexan sheet that make the back section were attached to check the fitting but have now been removed for painting. The next time they are put back on my cabinet will be finished.
Bones:
When attaching the runners, I aligned the end of the wood so I could attach a thin light panel that now blocks just about all the stray light from the marquee. Any light that now gets through will be concealed by the monitor bezel.
There is a gap that allows airflow from the marquee and monitor area and my hope is that this will be enough ventilation to not have to use additional fans.
I also installed the support floorboard today and filled a few holes with putty.
Tomorrow I will try and finish everything else except the dashboard.
