| Act Labs USB light guns... PC or TV? |
| (1/1) |
| krick:
I'm trying to figure out what kind of Act Labs light guns to get. PC or TV. I currently have a MAME cabinet with a standard res arcade monitor but I may "upgrade" to a Gells Gardner D9200 in the near future. As I understand it, a standard res arcade monitor is pretty much a TV without a tuner. And the D9200 is pretty much a specialized PC monitor that does arcade refresh rates. I'm confused. Which guns should I get? |

The difference isn't so much in the monitor, as the signal type. If you're using S-video, you need the TV gun. If you're using VGA, you need the PC gun. |

In a related topic, is this true?... http://www.mameworld.info/ubbthreads/showthreaded.php?Cat=&Number=32150&page=0&view=expanded&sb=5&o=&fpart=1&vc=1 --- Quote ---> I hope this is the right place to post, but I was reading the faq on act-labs site, > and it said it required the jpac to operate correctly. is this accurate? or can the > arcadeVGA set up work just as well? > > thanks for the time as always. > > edit: actually they word it funny... the 'jpac arcade vga card' > http://www.act-labs.com/gun-support.htm#16 It actually WON'T work thru a jpac, as it uses composite sync. Use a avga card and the video amp modified to use seperate syncs as show on this page. http://www.ultimarc.com/vidamp.html --- End quote --- |
