Ha ha, dont think we should start a Yank bashing here my barbeque-esque buddy, I doubt this forum would even be here if it wasnt for our US friends.  :D

(un)fortunetly I work in engineering and have to use both metric and imperial measurements every day so it is not too alien to me.

Saying that I do prefer metric!  ;)
