You can download worldwind (I think it's called) from NASA and it has the whole earth with satellite imagery... You can literally zoom in on a globe of the earth.
what about terraserver.com ??
I looked for constantinople, Turkey and couldn't find it... that's odd.. I've got a date there soon, hmmmmph!
