I usually use duct tape, bondo, superglue, or cabbage! Actually I usually use PCB feet if I can find any, but I have also just screwed them down in the past with no ill effects. I actually had one hanging loose in a cabinet for a year and a half with no problems. That was back before I was hyperactive on these forums, my wiring got a whole lot better after I started seeing everyone ELSE's ultraclean wiring jobs. |

I will throw in a second for the brass hex computer standoffs. Just mark holes, drill so the hole is undersize, screw the standoff into the wood with a nut driver, and mount your PCB like a motherboard. Works great! Besides, what self-respecting geek doesn't have at least 1 metric ton of those things laying around ??? |

I could only see the thing staying in for a short time. I'd add very strong glue for the screw standoffs to make sure they never dislodge from the timber. |

I used a bunch of them for my MAME cabinet... you would have to literally hammer on them to dislodge them. You want the drilled hole a tight interferrence fit, so the standoffs cut full threads into the wood. Just thought of this: Mine are screwed into plywood. I would not recommend this procedure in MDF without using CA glue also. (Crazy glue) Definitely test a few before commiting your PCBs to them. |

If you want actual PCB mounting feet. Ponyboy has them cheap! -Goz |
