Some, but it is minimal. He was rightly focusing on the priests who had actually comitted the acts. There were a lot of them to be investigating all at once and many of them were going to die of old age before they could be indicted so time was of the essence.

God...that was confusing. For a minute I thought ChadTower was losing it quoting himself and then making rebuttals to his own quotes. That's funny.

OK, back to popes. My dad LOVES conspiracy theories (unfortunately he's sometimes right, which means it justifies all the crazy ideas that are obviously wrong). so his latest is that the new pope will be brazilian because brazil is heading in a socialist direction and that is making the church nervous. he draws the parallel with lech walensa in poland and the polish pope helping to topple the regime there. what he fails to realise is that the polish didnt realyy want that sort of government, while if brazil is becoming more socialist its not because of a revolution but because the elected government is evolving that way. Italy and france also lean towards socialism and they are predominantly catholic but i dont see anything happening there.
besides, the people most anxious about socialism are americans who are NOT predominantly catholic so why would the church help?
anyone else agree with my dad?

I think the new pope will be from Africa.
