Description
Players control Beavis and Butt-Head as they fight through several cool levels. A bonus game has Beavis and Butt-Head fishing. Atari Games never released this game.

I'd play it though.

Nah Virtual Stupidity was a different game, and it was indeed an awesome game.

Virtual Stupidity was more of an adventure type game, while this one seems to be your more typical arcade platform game.

I've played it. There are usually three of the prototypes at California extreme every year.

It runs on 3DO hardware.

Not likely.

The gentlemen who own a decent chunk of Atari prototypes do not like what MAME has become.

I respect their decision. After all, they own the PCB's.

Frankly, I am not like that.

As I mentioned, they own the PCB's and I know where they stand.

Pestering and begging just reinforces the stigma that looms over the hobby. :(

Beavis and Butthead for consoles is very hard, and not very fun, which is why I was interested in the arcade game. I have nintendo, sega, and super nintendo emulators all running it, but it is not that great. All arcade games are better for the arcade, not consolized.

Preserving the original game.

Not trying to be an ass, as I said I am new to this. But preserving it how? Just an electronic copy of all the old school games so they won't be 'lost' forever? That makes sense for the old and lesser known games, but obviously Pac-man and the likes won't be lost anytime soon. And I think the founding fathers of Mame had the Pac-man stuff as part of their list of games.

Yes, preserving the games in a complete manner.  In order to ensure each game is completely preserved, they had to write an emulator that they could test them with.  ALL ARCADE GAMES fall into this umbrella, and that includes Pac-Man.  The old hardware will fail eventually for all of them.

Unfortunately, MAME has become a way for people to get thousands of arcade games for free and I'd say greater than 90% of MAME users don't own very many PCBs.

The only time they get changed is if the old version wansn't correct.  For example this recent change that updated the roms for defender and a ton of other games was because a prom was missing from the previous dumps.  Mame doesn't need the proms but they are needed for board repairs so it was considered worth making everyone upgrade their roms for this.

See what I mean?  "Making everyone upgrade their roms".  Shouldn't only people who have the pcb be using the rom?

Of course, that's understood.  You wouldn't have the rom set to upgrade if you didn't own the board.

Since I don't know 'the rules', you have to own the PCB? You cannot just own say the atari version or whatever home edition eqivilant?

You didn't read the license before using it, did you?

No, you cannot own another port of the game and still use the MAME rom legally.

I did read it, well, mostly. But that was a year or two when I first got the program (which I didn't use much then, but recently I have).

So you have a Mame program with 100's(?) of games...and you own every one as a PCB?

I'd be willing to bet 99% of people that own a cd burner or computer printer have used it illegally.  Doesn't mean there's anything wrong with owning a cd burner or printer, it's how you use it.

I agree, if you arent doing a pc arcade and/or only doing a jamma setup, how does this website help you very much, as I thought its basis was building your own arcade controls for use with mame/pc.  :-\
