I will be needing a new home computer because i'm putting this one in my cab. So I went to buy a new one yesterday, sweet system about 1000$ I looked into financing it..........28.9% I told them to piss off. Does this seem high to you?

ChadTower:

Yes, $1000 seems way high.

Zero_Hour:

28.9% isn't financing - it's loansharking.  ::)

DrewKaree:

Yeah, on both counts.

I know this will prolly sound dumb to ya, but if there's a Wal-Mart in your area, see if they sell PC's...some do (like mine), some don't, but you can pick up a cheap system and stick it on layaway.  No interest payments, cheap PC for you, etc.

Otherwise, save your money and build one yourself for that money, or buy an older system that will deal just fine with MAME and keep your PC for yourself.  Shouldn't cost more than $100 (ask Paige) and you save yourself the finance charges.

In that vein,

End of the month is coming up, check the dumpsters around any apartment complexes in your area. Odds are you'll find a usable MAME system or two for the cost of hauling them home.
