| What's Jungle Hunt worth? MAME it? |

Oh, of course I would keep it original if I were to mame it. I would never paint over the side art or hack the cabinet and put a friggin frankenpanel on there. I would remove the CP, make my own, get arcade vga and so on. and that's only if i can't get the game working first. UPDATE: I am buying the Jungle Hunt. I am going to try and get it working. If it does, I'll get a new CP or print one out from AAL. Also, the sideart needs a lot of touching up. Anyone have tips for this? I think I saw that someone had the paint codes for the Taito cabs somewhere. |

You could bring in a couple paint chips and do that. (But like I said, i don't know how accurate the matching is) |

The paint-matching machines will give the salesman a good start. There still need to be manual tweaks for a really good match. If you are going this route, best to go to a good paint store and have them match it there--worth the few extra dollars (over a Home Depot or Lowes). |

actually it's not just a generic taito cab. sure most of their graphics were of the same style but most games had there own color scheme. ie. qix is grey/black, jungle hunt/king is that yellow/green color. i think there might be a cople overlaps, but for the most part each game has it's own cabinet. i'm with the majority here, it would be a shame to mame that cab, it's decicated, complete, and most likely an easy fix. while the game isn't super rare or anything, it's not dirt common either. empty conversion cabs are so easy to find. if your heart is set on mame or get to the point where you don't want to bother with it, post your location and you will be able to find someone to trade for the cab pretty easily. as for the problem, the first thing to try is a new power supply. taito linear psu's are notoriously bad. arcadeshop.com has a kit that will allow you to replace the old one without cutting a single wire.a very easy install. |
