Permenantly change an Ultimate to a 4-way?
NoBonus:
I have an old, beaten-down Happ Ultimate 8-way stick. It plays the U,D, L, R really nicely, but the diagnols grind. I was wondering if anyone has made a cheap and easy (and permenant) 4-way restrictor for such a stick? It could be located anywhere on the stick, but preferably under the control panel (not above like the old Oscar Controls restrictor plates). Any ideas?

There are a few ways to do it.
One is the buy some washers and screw them into the bottom to hit the diagonals. Getting the right size so that you cant hit the diagonals is the trick, I believe that a nickle was about it... might have been a quarter... some money size)... Also they are rouned (and should really be closer to a tringle). You might be able to get something to work with some straight metal that can be screwed between each screw terminal at the bottom.
Anyway, take a look at the bottom and try and add some kind of restrictor there.

So you think metal triangles(essentially making a diamond shape on the bottom of the stick) is a good route? On the bottom of the stick there is that trapezoid actuator... will it be the actuator that makes the hits against the diamond? Or should I try to get the shaft to hit the diamond? Would the diamond wear out the plastic actuator quickly? Or only over a long time and lots of abuse?

Where can I find a good pic of the underside of a Tron stick?
