I was thinking about building something similar at one point before realizing how much work it would be. I was thinking about cutting wood panels, routing all the edges, and painting it gloss white and black. Some of the funky shapes of these cabinets can only be accomplished structurally by using a metal frame. The best I ever found with dimensions is the flyer for Sega's Astro City cabs on the Arcade Flyer Archive. http://www.arcadeflyers.com/?page=flyerdb&subpage=thumbs&id=3013 Even then it only shows the dimensions of the finished cabinet. For the shallow CP area I was planning on building the outer frame and then using metal plates on the top and bottom. It never made it past the planning stage though. Converting from millimeters comes up with dimensions of 56.9"x 29.5"x 35.6" for the Astro City. There are a ton of different candy cabs from different manufacturers though. |
