In my neighborhood the homes are 2000 to 2300 square feet. The most recent sales have been going up and up. The last one went for $420,000.
My house is about 2100 square feet, but we got it dirt cheap 11 years ago. Even with all the money we spent on improvements (New roof, new siding, ne windows, finished basement, etc) we could still make a huge profit if we sold it.

Why would you want to live in a place it costs that much? Why?
There are areas of the country where that much money would buy a ranch with 100s maybe 1000s of acres.
If you make $400K but spend all of it, what's the point? Just to live in the area?
I have never ever understood why people would do that. I guess it's the country boy heart I have, but I really can't understand that.
