Arcade Renovations Art = Amazing
« on: March 15, 2005, 03:20:11 pm »
I just got a set of Crystal Castles repro overlays (marquee, speakers, control panel) from Arcade Renovations and they are beautiful!!

I don't know if all their overlays are done with the same printing service, but if so, I recommend them!

I bought the exact same thing and I was also very impressed. I still can't believe I got all three marquee, speakers and control panel for only $40 dollars.

I'm glad you mentioned this. I wonder if perhaps I should put the marquee overlay on top of the old one... Carefully aligned. Would I be crazy to try that?

Easy fix:

Go to your local plexiglass dealer (TAP, etc...) and pick up a 1/16th piece of white plexiglass (or lexan) cut to size and put it behind the marquee. It will assist in diffusing the light.

Hmm. Would spraying white paint on a plexi get the same effect?

Thanks I'll try using the white plexi and see what happens.

Just dont buy the Galaga artwork through AR that he resells from trades from 2bits.  2bits Galaga control panel isn't even close to the original... faded colors, totally wrong front. The kickplate art is pretty good, the side art isn't the same as the original but is better than the crappy control panel one.

Again, I love AR's work... his OWN work, but stay away from the specials he sells from 2bits...  you get 2bits low quality junk instead of something up to AR's usual standards.
