Clams to be plug and play, but I can't get it to work on any of my cabs. I did get the video out working, but not any of the inputs. It plugs in via the parallel port, which is odd. If anyone has any information on this thing please share. -Mike --- End quote --- Did you get it from a guy named ODE1979 aka Avel Chavez? He sold me one that looks just like this that he was trying to pimp on this board about a year ago, he called it the SHAGMAME here's the BYOAC thread. It came with the same plug and play wording and couldnt get it to work for anything other than sound. It was imported from Mexico. If it is the same board and same person, you will likely never hear from them again. They gave me a money back guarantee and they disapeared after getting my green. Best of luck. -Goz |

I recently bought one of these adapters on ebay. After many frustrating evenings I have finally managed to get this working with ArcadeOS and AdvanceMame. Overall I am satisfied with it given the price I paid. I just wish I would have had recieved some documentation along with it. |

I think there are folks here who still have one of these. Also: Are you the CongoBongo I met at an SB auction several months ago ? Cheers. |

Most of my challenges were actually not with the adapter itself but getting ArcadeOS/AdvMame working properly together. I ended up using GLITCH77'S BOOT CD. That was quite easy to setup but I still had difficulty configuring the video output in AdvMame. I finally discovered that the guy who runs the site http://www.mameworld.net/dosmame/myconfig.php was using advmame with the same WG monitor type as me. After copying his advmame.rc file everything was displaying properly. After a lot of googling I figured out what to use to map the controls: SNESKey. So you extract SNESKey to your drive, add the path to your autoexec.bat save the sample file "mame.ini" into your mame directory as "sneskey.ini." Edit the key mappings in "sneskey.ini" to the keyboard actions you wish. Set the prog_path to your arcadeos.exe. Then copy go.bat from sneskey to your arcadeos folder. When you run go.bat it will activate sneskey and run arcadeos. You can then use your arcade controls to operate arcadeos/advmame. You get power from the PC power supply for the audio. That's as far as I've taken it so far. Hope this helps someone else out. |
