Ultimate ARcade II Question.

MrTroy:

Ugh, I feel uterly stupid asking this question but now I have no choice.

My friend and I are building an Ultimate Arcade II. We've gotten all of the wood cut and now, we're putting on the lamanent or putting it together. Of course we don't know which order to do things in though. I know nothing about woodwork or more or less cutting wood so the question is.

Which do we do first. Put the lamanet on then screw it together. Or screw it together then put the lamanent on? The plans only talk about the 4 big pieces. I'm confused about the rest though.

Wyluli:

Screw it all together first.  Then add the laminate.  You want to hide the screws.  Also, countersink the screws into the wood so they don't leave a bump.  Good luck!   ;D

I'm also building an Ultimate Arcade II.  I constructed the lower portion of the cabinet, countersunk all of the screws, filled them in with wood putty and I'm now ready to put on the laminate.  After it is on, I will add the upper sides and complete those construction steps and then laminate the top.

If you are going to laminate the area where the coin door goes the instructions tell you to laminate that area before you build the lower section.

Hope that helps.

MrTroy:

Thanks. I'll have pics and a site 100% together when I'm 30% done. :)

But I didn't understand that last part namedos. So I laminate the area where the coin door goes if I'm NOT using a coin door correct? Laminate it before I begin building?

MAKE SURE IT WILL FIT TO WHATEVER ROOM YOUR TRYING TO PUT IT IN!!!

Take alot of measurement to be sure you can move it.  You dont want to be playing games out in the garage.
