what should be in version 1.0?

If you don't want Mahjong games, then just remove them yourself. Same goes for 'bootlegs'.
The warning messages are there for legal purposes and will always be a part of Mame- they're in there for our own good. Warnings about inacurate emulation etc. can be turned off if you don't want them (though if it's going to be v1.0final all of these would be ironed out).
What exactly do you find so troublesome with the current control mapping?

Yep..I've configured my frontend to hide those types of games...just expressing my opinion...
As for the controls...I didn't find anything so troublesome...I would just prefer a more visual method of setting up the controls. Setting up Analog control sensitivites can be a little hit and miss with the current method...but that's just my experience...

How about this.

I assume you mean me, but how'd I get dragged into this?

MAME is about documenting and cataloging the inner workings of as many arcade machines as possible. Since bootlegs exist, they'd kind of exist in the documentation project.

Says a few lines in a text file, the developers personal web pages and messages tell a much different story.
The problem is that there was no way to legally have even developed that bootleg support. ..

I know, I was being sarcastic PITA. ;D
