| Happs Black Pica Vinyl and un-primed MDF... |

| SideShow Rob:
Hi Guys, I'm about to start work on my second cabinet...hopefully avoiding the pitfalls experienced with the first! I was never 100% pleased with the Black Gloss Paint finish on my first cabinet...and as this cabinet is (hopefully) going to be much smaller than the previous cabinet, I am planning on covering the sides, front, and top with Happs Black Pica Vinyl. What I would like to know...is the adhesive strong enough to apply to unprimed MDF...or would people recommend priming the surfaces beforehand? (Or even priming and top-coating, before applying the Vinyl...) Many thanks for your time... Rob. |

I pearsonally would'nt prime it. You want the adhesive sticking to the wood not paint that could flake off. I would reccomend sanding it with course sand paper to rough it up a little. |

Thanks Shape D... That's the response I was hoping for...I'm all for less work... But if anyone else has advice contrary to this, or indeed, can confirm that unprimed is okay...please let me know. |

un-primed mdf here too & the viny is still holding stong |

Yep, shouldn't be a problem. I've even used it on powder coated metal and its still holding strong. |
