OK. So I got these LCD laptop replacement monitors (for an IBM Thinkpad 760) and I'm needing some ideas on what to use them for. They were real cheap so of course I HAD to have them, now what the hell do I do with them. They are brand new, still with the protective film on the screen. Any ideas anybody?

Trimoor:

You could give one to me.  Please?

Make a video marquee.  Make a video projector.  Make a bartop cab.  Make a virtual window.  Take the backlight off one and make a transparent monitor like in minority report.

So many possibilities.  I recommend the first one. ;D

They need (semi) expensive driver boards to get them to work with a PC... It's not just a matter of a cable hack or anything like that. Unless you've got the $$$ for the boards, they don't make good project screens.

Trimoor:

You can still make LCD window blinds.  Tie all the rows and columns together and build a little circuit to control it's transparency.

If you have a thinkpad laptop, you could attach all the monitors in parallel to make dozens of cloned displays.
