Hosting organized arcade game nights

Katana Man:
For a year now, my wife and I have hosted poker nights a few times a month at our house. We play with professional chips (not for money), 60" round poker table, plenty of snacks, and the players love it.

Witchboard:
Just use Highscore.dat in MAME and delete them every week.  Granted all games don't support the high scores, but then you could manually keep it.

Katana Man:
Thanks, but that wouldn't work to keep track of the scores since everyone would have to put in their initials for every game. Plus this wouldn't help with the fighter games.  It will be easy to keep track of these manually.   All I need to do is write down the arcade game score and the game night score. In the case of fighter games, only the game night score will be needed.

Concerning fighter games, is a round robin tournament style play required to determine places 1-5?  That would take a while.  Hmmmm..

This would not be necessary for challenges however.  If the player challenges everyone to Street Fighter, then he plays everyone once in hopes of winning every match.

sounds pretty good to me as long as you can keep up with the scoring........

We used to do poker nights as well here. Had the table, chips and the works......It was allways cash in $10 for chips

25 blue     blue chips 25 cents
25 red       red chips   10 cents
25 white     white chips 5 cents

cash out at the end of the night.....no one ever lost much no one ever became rich either......

Redseven80:
Sheesh! must be a crazy night of debauchery at your house on a saturday night!
