What about 2 player panels? Have you thought of price/shipping on those?

Thanks,
-Dweebs

An off the top guess would be:
$40 for a basic pre-cut 2 player panel. (34"X16"X3/4") With Happ joystick/pushbutton holes, and a happ trackball cutout.
Add $25 for a matching 1/8" Cast acrylic cover.
Add roughly $20-$25 for UPS shipping and packaging.

NOTE: This pricing is not for "custom" layouts. This is for the standard layout listed in the first post on this thread.

On looking at the Japanese layout a little more closely, it seems the joystick maybe a little close to the buttons.

OK, got my first joystick together today and wired with an ipac.
I put the Byrdo stick on Ebay because I wanted a bigger controller with more room.

I'm still waiting on Snaake to send me the hacked ps2 pad (cmon Snaake, I'm dying here!!) so I can attach this to my son's PS2 but I wanted to go ahead and get the wiring harness put together.

Thing left to do:  wire tie the wiring harness, sand and repaint controller (a few little runs), mount the IPAC2, hook up the PS2 pad when available.
I am considering leaving this one as a Mame controller and adding a Vortex spinner with the chrome Mame spinner to it.  What do you guys think?

I've been playing Street Fighter and Marvel vs Capcom games all morning!

Here's the shots, again excuse my pitiful little camera:

Thanks again used electronics!!  I will definitely be ordering a 2 player version in the future.  You just cant beat usedelectronics prices on these, you could hardly purchase the wood for what he is selling them for.  I am by no means a woodworker or craftsman and these went together easy as pie with a little wood glue.  I painted it with a black satin spray paint ($3.00).  I think it turned out nice.
Please ignore the ipac hanging out off the back!!  I was excited to try it out.

I requested an 8 button layout because I intend to connect this to a PS2 for some Tekken 5 and Virtua Fighter action.  Thats the beauty of the cnc router, he can pretty much do whatever you'd like with it, within reason.

We should be doing the first production run on these boxes the following weekend!

I'm Back.

I see from the post by spiffy that he has a few concept button layouts worked up.
Once you guys decide on the final layout(s) I can finalize the plan and cut these on sunday.

If you make a 6 button capcom street fighter layout, and it fits sanwas, I know ALOT of people that will buy them.
including me.

Hello again everyone,

My business partner has finished transferring our site over to the new software, as well as getting the new forum software, and storefront up and functional.
The designs for the panels are finalized (waiting on the dimensions from spiffyshoes). We have everything else waiting, ready to begin production.

For those of you that were registered on our old forums, your information has been transferred to the new software. However, you will have to request a new password due to the transition.

Please do not order anything from the store yet, as it is not active. You will all be notified when the parts are available.

Thanks again for all your interest!

Here's the final version of the "sanwa/Byrdo" layout.

What do you guys think?

I would be interested in buying one of these.

But I have a question:

How would you mount the sanwa joystick into the wood?

It looks like he simply made the wood for the sanwa box (where the buttons and sticks are) thin enough for Sanwa stuff. It doesn't HAVE to be mounted on metal I didn't think, it's just that the common wood CP's are much to "thick"  for a sanwa. I've heard of people just mounting Sanwa stuff right on a sheet of lexan instead of using wood on the top (I don't know about that though, seems kinda flimsy).

Looks like he just routed out the wood around it without making it flimsy, good stuff.

With you permission, used electronics, I know a site that would kill for these boxes, as they are almost the No.1 item in making a custom stick that alot of people can't make (live in apartments, don't have the tools). I don't know if you have posted on there or not, but on the Hardware section on the www.shoryuken.com boards, 90% of the topics are about custom stick making/buying. There is also a thread with well over 1000 posts called the "Custom Stick" thread(It's a fighting game website with focus on the 2-D fighters, and almost all agree that a stick is the only way to practice at home for tournys in the arcade, so almost everyone wants to/uses one). However, no one sells premade boxes, as most are just hobbists that make a full featured stick, but most people would rather make their own, the only hitch being that they don't have the tools/wood/skills/area to make them.

So go post on there! Or I can let them know about it, and guide them here, it's up to you really. I know they would really be excited.

Any word on the Happ boxes?  I'd like one with the same layout as the ones you're doing now, but designed to fit Happ Competition buttons and stick.  Also I don't need a hole for the select button  :)

Bringing this back from the dead with a few updates...

I am trying to clear out some remaining inventory fron the last production run of these kits.
I have the full housing with the exception of the precut lexan top.
These ship in the flat rate USPS boxes {2 kits fit in one box}

So any one interested?

20 shipped for one kit 35 for two?

I made myself some one player sticks of various styles to "play-test" various sticks, and button layouts.
They are the smaller joystick boards in this picture):

I also have 4 of the small panel kits left.

These include the precut predrilled top, and a base without a bottom cover.
{the trackball panel, one 6 hole straight panel, and 2 curved hole panel are available, as well as one 6 hole straight panel assembled.}

Best offers.. Or trade for other parts.
