Leeds, you have to start with Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior. It's the prototype for everything that came later. From there, move on to the rest of the Street Fighter series (Champion, Super, Alpha.) If you want to explore the fighter landscape more from there, Samurai Shodown is to me the NeoGeo's best fighter series, but Fatal Fury/Garou, King of Fighters and Last Blade are awesome too. Finally, for a more viceral thrill, the Mortal Kombat series and Killer Instinct. The gameplay is a little less fluid, but they both have a great visual style and lots of violence. |
