"Reply" no worky all the time.
« on: January 18, 2005, 04:55:02 pm »
Every so often I go to reply to someone, and I can't type a single friggen letter in the reply box.  I can click any of the smilies and they'll insert into the message, but I can't type ANYTHING.  Hitting refresh SOMETIMES solves this, but normally what I have to do is to exit that thread, surf for a few minutes, go back, and when I reply then, bingo, it's working.

I've had times where clicking "quote" instead of reply works, but that's a hit or miss proposition.

Anyone else have this problem?

Win 98SE

Firefox 1.0

I also was able to recreate it with IE 6 and Firefox 0.9.1

Hrm. I looked at the vendor forum as well and see real no mention of this issue. Do you have some sort of popup-blocker, virus protection, or other "auto-fill" applications running as well? I personally haven't experienced this under any browser under WinXP SP1 and SP2.

Anybody else have this issue?

I'm only running Firefox's built-in pop-up blocker and auto-fill for passwords, no Anti-Virus at all (I haven't required it ever), but I have a Firefox extension called "BugMeNot" enabled - it's only been used twice since I got it, so I'm gonna disable it and see how it works.

Thought I'd bring it up since it just happened again.

If disabling BugMeNot works, I'll let you know...meanwhile I'll just hope that fixes it or that a fix for this is found.

Thanks!

Happened again after disabling the BugMeNot extension.  Doesn't seem to have been brought up on the Firefox forums either.

Specifically, it was saint's thread I was going to reply to, although it shouldn't matter if it's a specific thread or not.

Maybe God is trying to tell you something?

Nah.  Usually when He's got something to say to me, He'll hit me up on my Nextel or send me a text message.  This has the fingerprints of His "nemesis"......or you.....either way.  :P
