25" arcade/SVGA monitors are expensive. If you're planning to go the TV route, fine, but not everyone wants to go that route for a variety of reasons.

If I were building a cabinet on a limited budget, the monitor is exactly what I'd skimp on, because it's one of the easiest things to upgrade later. I'd build my cabinet sized to fit the monitor I eventually want, and make do with whatever I could afford for now. A 25" sized cabinet with a 19" sized monitor makes good sense if your money is tight.

You build a cabinet with the monitor you have, not the monitor you wish you had. :)

I agree with you! I'm going the TV route, but your right, the monitor is the best thing to slack on to save money, and it's the one part thats easy to upgrade later.

You mean, "I just don't see why people DON'T use a TV"....(I think)

TV's have known to cause certian people strained eyes, a tv isn't the same as an arcade monitor, but my eyes aren't that picky.

I think a TV is a little brighter then the normal arcade monitor?

In any case, some people would rather have a true arcade monitor, and I can understand that.

The thing is...people build cabs that are worthy of a 33 inch monitor, but only has a 19 inch. I agree with that one dude, build the cab to fit the specs. Look at this cab...Dude wtf??

Also check eBay, they always have arcade monitors for cheap.

Tritoch, when someone says you need to get some balls and put a certain size monitor in there, it's not light-hearted, he's being an arse.

There's a thing called "life" that sometimes gets in the way of things like buying a 25" monitor, and to  say "i'm not rich and I can afford one" is simply childish idiocy.  It'd be like saying "I'm not rich, but I can afford a speed boat" and that if you only have a canoe, you've "got no balls".

You're standing on your head, it seems, because it sounds like you're talking out of your arse.

I highly suggest an arcade monitor over a TV any day. I was just proving a point that there are other cheap alternatives than a 13'' inch pc monitor.
