Engraved Arcrylic
« on: January 31, 2011, 11:32:14 am »
I want an edge lit Marquee.  Any idea where i can get some plexi engraved?  I was playing around with doing it myself, but I just don't think I will be able to get it professional looking on my own.  I want two sheets, so I can layer them and do two different colors at once.

Thanks!

Some custom aquarium places have the tools to work with plexi because they build custom units into walls.

Why of if they could do engraving I have no idea.

You might also check with local trophy shops. Those cats have engraving gear out the wazoo.

You need to find someone with a large CO2 laser.  Lots of plastic shops have them now.  Mine is too small for marquee work, but it engraves acrylic and a whole lot more.  It will also give a "flame-polished" edge on the cuts, which you will need.
