I have 2 Craftsman routers....their about 3 yrs old each...both brand new.  Each of them has the same problem as you routing, the depth changes.  This is not big deal when your just recessing joysticks or even a mounting plate, but is disastrous when do the t molding groove.  Which do you guys recommend using with a 1/4" collet.  I love Craftsman, but their routers blow.

Mameotron:

Have you tried one of the new wireless routers?  These are really sweet!!

Mameotron:

Sorry, couldn't resist.....

Actually, I have a Skil router I bought about 10 years ago for $35.00 (brand new at Sears).

Skil looks kinda nice......I'm not a big Ryobi fan, but when  I was at Home Depot last nite, they had a nice plunge router with a locking mechanism that seemed to work really well.....have it on my list of things for xmas......
