| coin door lights in a JAMMA cab |

So, I began dismantling my jamma cab to convert to a mame cab today. I took out the whole jamma board and dismantled the control panel. When I was done, I turned on the power for a moment to make sure I hadn't shut off power to the monitor, it came on fine. What I noticed is that the coin door lights no longer are operating. Is this normal? If so, when I plug the jamma into my j-pac will they come on again? |

If your cabinet had the coin door lights wired to the existing game cabinet's power supply then likely you have one of those power supplies that must have a load (like a game board) connected to the +5 volt line in order to power up. Some power supplies need to have a load on the +5 volts in order to turn on the other voltages like the +12 volts. |

Actually, Ken, what you probably don't know about the J-PAC is that although there are connections for the 12V on the board, they don't go anywhere. So in order for his lights to light, he'll have to get power from another source. |
