Hi all. I have a question. I have a berzerk cab that I want to get mamed. The wood on the bottom is very rotted. Looks like the buttom levelers bit the dust some time ago and the poor thing sat on its sides. This caused the sides to rot. I plan on cutting the sides off at the bottom of the main cab but am not sure if it is rotted any futher up. Any advice, I really like this cab and hope it can be saved.

Thanks in advance

I have owned a few of those. It is a plywood cabinet. You should be able to just chop the bottom few inches off and put a new bottom on it. Add wheels to get the height back.

Plywood cabs survive water damage a lot better than pressboard ones.

I have just mamed a cabinet with a similar proble. I had rotted wood on the entire base. I simply cut out the dead wood with the power saw. Then gave it a relly good sanding with a nice grit with the power sander, and finished off by adding a base plate with wheels attached. Its perfect now, and i can tell you it wont be seeing water again.

Is there anything I can do to the wood if its rotted above the bottom base? I meen if I cut the side and there is still some there. Any chemicals or wood treatments. I'm tring to save as much as possible. I love the side art on those berzerk cabs.

Did you build a full "caddy base" that the cab sits into?  Or just a flat base?  Have any pics?  I've got a Konami 4player cab that has some water damage and I'm trying to figure the best way to deal with it.
Thanks
