I have seen this talked about before and I was wondering exactly how this was done. Is there some special type of paint that is used to do this or is it more of a process? |

Poweder coating is precisely that. A special gun/applicator is used to coat the material in a fine powder. this is then placed in a sort of oven where it is baked and the powder cures. Typical finish is VERY VERY durable and usually very shiney too. Although I would imagine you can get 'matt' finishes as you can with paint edit: good link - hoagie |

they do have faux powder coating spray paints, that have a good textured surface....not the same though. |

Powder coating equipment is available at Harbor Freight. Here's a $60 "Powder Coating System" and if you put "powder coat" in the search box, you'll come up with all kinds of stuff including an oven |
