Definately maybe.
The BYOAC tokens we would make this year will be a different design from last year - created by the group with a voting process, same as we did last year.
Too bad. I think the "design by committee" pretty much nailed it the first time. Last year's BYOAC tokens had that iconic look, with simple, clean graphics. I like the shapes, rather than their outlines, being defined in relief. I really haven't seen a token design I'd rather have with my cabinet. I wish I hadn't missed out on them.
The current MAME tokens strike me as too "noisy", especially the cabinet side. The theme doesn't really work for me either... The BYOAC tokens were more old-days gamey, with the happy Atari guy (not the Men's room guy, thank you!) and a big old cabinet. The URL points people here, where they can learn to build a cabinet. The MAME ones, to me, remind people that there's a modern PC inside, running a piece of software they may not have heard of. The URL points them at that one emulator. I don't know. I have a hard time accepting them.
How much would it cost to do another run with the old design? Probably too rich for my blood. But I figure at least the dies are already made so it might be worth asking.
