Best Mame Games for Young Kids
fixumdude:
Thanks for the suggestions I've gotten so far. I did try to search for children & games, and kid's games, etc. but didn't get any meaningful results....sorry if this has been asked a million times before.
Gunstar Hero:
These are the games that my 7 year old brother and 4 year old sister played on my cab.
Tugboat
Pac-Man series (on easy with 5 men standard)
Pole Position, Turbo (or car games in general)
Vs. Excitebike
Vs. Super Mario Bros.
Afterburner, Space Harrier, TMNT, TMNT2, Simpsons (cause you can just add many quarters and get hundreds of lives)
They also seemed to really really like to watch me play Dragon's Lair and Space Ace!
The way I'd set it up is use a FE that supports several lists, then just pick through a list of games that you'd want them playing, then when the kidlets want to play, set up that list
and lock out the menus until they're done! MAMEwah works super well for that.
Hoagie_one:
Heroes in a Half shell
Turtle power
NoOne=NBA=:
Tempest, although hard if you really PLAY it, is good for kids.
They love spinning the spinner and firing.
My nephew started at about 4, and is actually shooting AT stuff now that he's 7.
Matt Berry:
I would think some of the older games like asteroids, crazy climber, pacman, donkey kong, ms pacman, frogger, bubbles, joust, circus charlie, burger time, anteater, timber, zoo keeper, rootbeer tapper, portman, mario bros
Race car games- Bump n jump, Drift out, great 1000 mile rally, rally x ect.
Some killing required centipede, Mr Do, galaga, dig dug, 1941, phoenix
There are a lot more (I could have kept going) and really too many to list. Some of the games may seem a little too hard for a 3 year old but once you get them started they usually catch on pretty fast, or have a lot of fun trying ;) Push them a little bit and you will be surprised how fast the learn, before you know it they'll turn 4 then 5. Just make sure to have fun and don't pigeon hole them too much
