Should I expand my cabinet to accomadate a 27" TV?

paigeoliver:
You don't HAVE to discharge unless you are taking the anode cap off.

Also, to make it really idiot proof use a brand new TV and never even plug the sucker in until it is done. It WILL NOT have a charge, still discharge it anyway, but it won't have one.

Just as I found out that the depth won't be a problem I find out I have to uncase the TV anyway so it'll fit well with a bezel since paige said in another thread that it'll look ugly without being uncased.

So if I uncase it, will it be pretty much like an arcade monitor when mounted on wood? Will it be stable?
paigeoliver:
It will be stable if you mount it stable.

It will also totally take a standard 27" arcade bezel then too, as long as you buy a tv with a traditional curved tube.
subzero23:
ya my dad has been like get a flatscreen and I'm just like ugh you have no idea why i'm doing this in the first place
paigeoliver:
No, noooo flatscreen, you will never find a matching bezel.

The cheapest 27" set in the store should be exactly what you need. It should have a traditional curved tube, and s-video, you don't need anything else.
