Konami 4-player cabs (TMNT, Simpsons, Sunset Riders, X-Men, etc)
Will:
I have one of these cabs as well.Im currently in the middle of project and getting ready to paint.Konami sure did make alot of these cabinets.Pretty happy with cabinet so far but I wish it was made of mdf instead of particle board. The angle of the monitor is great and so far has been a great first mame project for me.

The only thing that keeps me from using some of the player one buttons as mouse buttons is that you can't map mouse buttons in most console emulators. I usually map them to the start buttons for that reason.

Ok I totally jumped on this thread all late. I have a TMNT cab that's still gutted. Haven't had the chance to do anything with it, though. It'll fit a 25" monitor, but a 27" won't fit with the frame (by the looks of it). I have a 27" so I'm partially screwed when it comes time to build that thing... Oh well! I'll make a wooden frame or something...

A 27" should fit, there are a good two inches either side of the frame in mine.

Also, those buttons and joys have to be in from the edges more, after all your panel is going to have sides and a front on it, right? Figure 5/8" or 3/4" extra space around the edges.
I'm sure there are plenty of other ways, but I just used 2 of the buttons for the player 1 joy as the 2 mouse buttons. Since it is very rare that I use Windows anyway, this works perfectly. I just don't see the purpose to having the extra buttons for the mouse. ?
This is (arguably) the best type of cabinet for Mame because it offers so much flexibility with a large horizontal monitor, and also good visibility for 2 or more players.

The sketch is actually of the base or the box that the control panel sits on not the actual control panel itself so there is a lot of room around the outside. The only area that the controls can extend a bit is a the top in the middle as the base has a cutout in this area. Note that there are 3/4" square blocks in each corner if the sketch, these are the corner supports for the base. Who ever had my machine before me didn't think about them and cut away about 1/2 of one putting a button in.
