I have done a search and I am getting over lloaded on info.
I just typed in light gun. search.
I got my light gun in a few weeks ago from act labs. I expected a flash of white ( a dot ) on the screen. I was ok with that. My screen goes blank when I fire. and comes back very fast but I get shot before I can reaim.
take operation wolf. I am aiming at a truck and shoot it once. The screen goes blank. as soon as it comes back the dirty @#$*%#'s blow me away  :'(.
I must be doing something wrong becouse this sucks.
Minwah:
The screen should just flash white all over when you fire - I don't know whether this is what you mean by 'blank' or not...

I have an op wolf game. I've never heard of the screen going blank when shooting. I would suspect though that it some sort of power issue. Try checking some voltages when you fire the gun. Maybe the gun is sucking all your power? Only thing I can think of.

On shooting blanks, the gun is really touchy. Sometimes the little optical board gets loose inside the gun. Sometimes the optical board in the gun goes bad, in that case you are going to have better luck finding a new gun than a new optical board. There is also a little lense in the barrel of the gun that might get dirty. Take that out and clean it.
The other problem is the screen adjustments. The gun is picky on how the screen is adjusted to register anything. Try playing with the contrast and color adjustment knobs and see if you have any luck. I wouldn't worry about getting the colors to look right. Get the shots to register first then adjust the color from there.

No way is the gun zaping all my power. I have a 500 watt power supply.
and yes the hole screen goes out. for a sec. realy shorter than that.

usb / svid out.
mame 87
2.6 gig cpu 512 meg  mem.

I will try another tv. later
thanks . I did not think this was working right. I will give it a few more tries then I will ask ACT- Labs for a refund. I would rather get the gun working
clanggedin:
It sounds like there is a bad connection between the svid and the TV.

Have you tried a different TV with Svid to see if that fixes the problem??
