NEED CAB DIMENSIONS
Vicious:
Don't take the newbie thing literally. I registered a new user name recently but my old one (Wizard of DelRay) was almost a year old. I've made a fair share of what I like to think are helpful and/or informative posts. It's now deleted so I'm starting fresh again, but I hardly consider myself a noob.
Don't be surprised when someone who may not have a high post count can be helpful. ;)

Let me get this straight, you need the measurements for a cabinet you already own?!?!? http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=103527&highlight=mvs-1-25
Why could you not measure the side panel of your cabinet yourself or am I missing something here?
Flinkly:
in a search for dimensions, i called a couple arcade...parts/fixers/whatever you want to call them...and one had a really bad neo geo cab that they had dumped. i thought that there would be enough left that i could salvage at least dimensions, along with cabinet construction off of it, but the sides were toast. i can tell how wide it was, since the inside panels were still the correct width in some places, but the side panels were water damaged, broken, dinged...it was a cabinet that would make you cry, no matter what it used to be. i guess it had gotten bad water damage, and from there, no one was worried about what happened to it, so it got thrown around a bit. so, i picked it up and took the dimensions i could, and scrapped it, because there wasn't anything to save. i did get a couple random dimensions off the sides, but if someone can get me dimensions from a real cab, i might as well check the ones i already have against them. i could have saved a couple of the higher panels, like the top, and a couple around the cp, but i figured that i might as well start from scratch, instead of incorporating old with new.
i told you i've tried almost everything...even using a dumped cab.
so at the neo geo post, i figured they wouldn't like a mamer so i gave them my experience with a neo cab i bought...all i do need is the side dimensions though. sorry for stretching the truth a bit...now i'm starting to think of making a new name...

I do not believe anyone called you a liar today.
You just may want to tone your posts down a notch. Thank everyone for their help and accept the fact you may have to solve this issue yourself. This group is fantastic but there are times where they don't have the exact answer you are looking for. You may have to just use the measurements you already have, look at some pics online and make your best guess as to the missing dimensions. Noone will know if you are off an inch or two from the original cabinet.

i know, i'm beginning to come to the conclusion that no one can help me with the specifics i'm after. i'm just trying to make the best cab the first time...gaming perfection to me. i am thankful for all the help that everyone has given me with this, truly, but like they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and if i know the cab isn't right...it'll always nab at me. i guess i just figured that someone on this or the neo geo board would be able to help me, since there are so many people out there. and i know you didn't call me a liar...but i'm just already having a bad day, even though it's only 9am over here...i actually edited it before you posted your reply. anyways, no need to post anything on this topic anymore unless you can (and will) get exact measurements either by trace or by tape. also, if i find one somewhere else, i'll post them here and then send them over to jakobud for free display on the web.
thanks again everyone.
