Do I need to tie the trackball into the I-Pac with an optipac? Because I want to order the Trackball with a USB/PS2 connection, which I am assuming you can just plug into the computer? Thanks --- End quote --- If you buy the happs trackball with usb/ps2 interface you do not need an optipac. Plugs in the same way a regular mouse would. This is exactly what I did on my first cab. Easy. |

(from other thread) That is fine, they are totally separate entities. The IPAC is purely a keyboard encoder, so use that for all your digital inputs (as you correctly plan to do). As far as Windows is concerned the IPAC is just a keyboard. The trackball interface will make the trackball appear as a mouse in Windows, so you can use this for Window itself, and MAME / anything else which normally uses mouse input. |
