rockmes:
Anybody else got the Act labs PC version of the lightgun to work with win XP home, jpac, arcadevga card, 15 khz arcade monitor?

l am having problems with calabration of the gun.
l can move the mouse pointer with the gun in windows desktop ,but it only moves to the corners of the screen.
Is there maybe some settings in xp that should be modified?

l have tried it with my computer monitor and its easy a pie to calabrate.

l am using windows mame optimized for amd athon xp and have activated lightgun support  within mame.ini, but maybe there is something l am doing wrong. Can anybody offer some suggestions?

whats  going on guys, no help for me?
Nobody with the same setup?
Goz:
I have two cabs with 15khz monitors in them with ACT-LABS light guns and have not had the issue that you are describing.

One of the monitors is a HANTAREX and the other is a WG. Both systems use a JPAC and ARCADEVGA.

Have you tried asking ACTLABS for assistance? Yes their support is spotty, but it might help.

What resolution are you running the monitor in?

Thanks Gozur  for replying.

l am running my desktop at 640 x 480 32bit color,
but  mamewah 640 x 288 32 bit color.

what do you think , thats causing the problem?

One thing l have noticed is that my monitor is running at 200 hertz, and l change it to 75 hertz but when it restarts it returns to the previous.
l am talking about inside the display properties within windows.
Goz:
200 hertz on a arcade monitor? Don't know if that is possible.

Refresh Rate is the number of times that the image on the display is drawn each second. If your monitor has a refresh rate of 200 Hertz (Hz), then it cycles through all the pixels from top to bottom 200 times a second.

I can't remember if Arcade Monitors are interlaced or not (I know this, but have repressed the info some how). If they are, then it starts at the bottom and works it's way up doing odd rows first then the even rows second or vice versa.

If you are set at 200Hz then it may be drawing the screen so fast that it just doesn't work correctly.
