Advanced Mame and a tv

I recently bought a radon 64 with s-video out.  I want to hook it up with my TV.  No problem there.  Now I want to use advanced mame because of its feature of keeping the original view ratio.  How do I set it up?  I almost ripped out my motherboard yesterday so please help!!!
