No thanks.  I'm planning on building a computer just for that purpose to hook up to my HDTV and surround sound that will hold more that 8 DVDs worth (I don't think a 160 gig drive is overkill, do you?) using parts I have lying around.  Plus it will be controlled by a touch screen interface.  All for about the same price, too!

I just checked www.uncleservice.com (look at his e-mail address).  It's chinese based.  One thing I've learned, don't buy oriental-made electronics unless it's from Japan.  APEX, for example, makes very bad quality electronics (Korean company, BTW).  Maybe if it was American-made or Japanese crafted, but...

I'm pretty sure this is some kinda put-on.  The website is about services offered to China and US.  But it's the statement at the top the makes me suspicious:

I'd much rather get an external hard drive, or an actual media player with a screen like those coming from Creative, Sony, Microsoft... depending on my needs.  I could actually get both of those for $400-500, but that is not even my point.

One note though, as a third year Business student, I urge you to get better shipping rates.  It should not cost you anywhere near $30 PER UNIT to get those to the US.  That's the beauty of bulk buys and wholesale purchases.... merchant discounts and one time shipping costs.  The size of this product means that you can ship thousands per container, and if your company truly is pursuing a partnership with CDW, that should be well within your means.

The ipod is an actual portable music/media player as well as a portable hard drive.  Your product doesn't even have headphones or a screen.  So your "music player" needs to be hooked up to a stereo, and your "video player" has to be hooked up to a tv or monitor.

My friend I think "expensive" is to chinese who makes $1000/month, not american. in china everything is 7 times cheaper except item like this use a lot of japaness and foreign parts. CDW would not need a container of it. if I buy a container, it would cost me 300*50000 = US$15million. I don't think it is "cheap" for my company.  Do you know how much an ipod 40G asking? All good and reputable companies are based in residential neighborhoods, and whose house backs up to the Stonehenge Golfcourse.
