No thanks.  I'm planning on building a computer just for that purpose to hook up to my HDTV and surround sound that will hold more that 8 DVDs worth (I don't think a 160 gig drive is overkill, do you?) using parts I have lying around.  Plus it will be controlled by a touch screen interface.  All for about the same price, too!

I just checked www.uncleservice.com (look at his e-mail address).  It's chinese based.  One thing I've learned, don't buy oriental-made electronics unless it's from Japan.  APEX, for example, makes very bad quality electronics (Korean company, BTW).  Maybe if it was American-made or Japanese crafted, but...

EDIT:  Forgot to capitalize American-made.  How patriotic I am!

I'm pretty sure this is some kinda put-on.  The website is about services offered to China and US.  But it's the statement at the top the makes me suspicious:

So you order this player but they're not responsible after it's been sold to you.  Best case scenarios; you get it and it breaks, you get it and it's crap, or you don't get it at all.

hell, why people are so sticky in this forum? It is warranted for 1 year. Every american made products has foreign parts. We are a small US-based manufacturer (start up). I've had an APEX ADW 600 DVD Player for about 5.5 - 6 years now. Never had any glitch, etc.
I've not tried any of the TV's, etc... but haven't seen too much negativity regarding them.

I won a free Apex 27" TV. It works well for what I use it for, but it is very cheap. the front A/V jack is unusable now. And the S-video in doesn't always work as well. But is was free and still works well other than that.

first I had jap. dVA, it only last a year. Then a keorea one, about 1 year. then Chinese one, 3 years now, no trouble at all!
